Alimony

Though South Carolina courts grant alimony awards, we do not have any set guidelines to determine whether and what to award. Under South Carolina law, judges are supposed to consider the parties’ health, disparity of income, length of marriage and the reason for divorce, among other factors when determining alimony. I take the time to explain the elements involved while conveying realistic expectations, enabling my team to work expeditiously to obtain as fair a result as possible.
